Tough fight, and we were in it until the end, but we’ll come up just short.

FINAL: Loyola 84, BG 76

Kate Achter has done a really nice job building up the program at Loyola. 9-0 is a solid accomplishment, regardless of competition, compared to the disaster they had when she took over.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

I agree about the free throws. I cannot stress enough how critical it is to be very proficient at making free throws. Too many times it will mean the difference between a win and a loss. I don’t know how stringent our coaching staff is with our players concerning free throws, but we have great shooters on this team, and I don’t understand why shooting free throws for them are not next to being automatic. I look back on the great Falcon free throw shooters of the past, and names come up like Achter, Prochaska, Cairnduff, and Lambert. The bottom line is that if you want to be great at the charity stripe, you have to put in the time and the work. Obviously, neither have been evident in the results. With our shooters, there’s no reason why we can’t be between 80-85%, as a team, from the foul line.
Also, what’s the latest on Andrea Cecil’s status? Also, with Kailie Hall looking so promising in the first three games, why has her minutes of PT become so minimal? Just curious. Next up.... Purdue this Saturday. We’ll see how competitive we can be with a Big Ten powerhouse. Go Falcons!
