This is what I would do as well, get a guy that can play the 4 with one of our old school bigs at the 5 and have the ability to have lineups where you play a guy like this with Matiss and have an athletic lineup. I know Huger values the rebounding afforded by a traditional big but I would still like to see Matiss further develop, he has a ton of upside, and play the 5. You could run with something like:

1. Zeigler
2. Fields
3. Diggs
4. Plowden
5. Matiss

Something like this being successful obviously hinges on Ziegler and Fields developing jump shots and Matiss being able to guard other team's bigs and rebound.

How many times did we watch an entire team collapse on turner without him ever looking to pass to four open guys. All is not lost without Turner but we are dead in the water if Plowden leaves as well.

This. JT was fun to watch, but the iso ball KILLED our offensive flow and chemistry. JT didn't convert at a high % with the ball, either. It's a shame bc JT has some excellent passing ability. I wish we would have stressed that aspect of his game more. It's not like he'd ever be the #1 option on an NBA team.

We have plenty of talent at the 2 spot - Fields, Ziegler, Fulcher, Diggs.

I too think Plowden is a better talent. He needs to polish up his shooting footwork and release. And, MAN, he must get stronger. I don't know why Plowden would leave. He'll be our clear #1 next year.

Kula could have a big breakout year next year. He's good enough that we should start him over any of our old school 5s.

Don't sleep on Kaden Metheny from WV. He was All-State 1st team with a bunch of other big time recruits, averaged 25.6 pts a game as an outside scorer, and had over 2,000 in his HS career as well as a 44 point night just before the season was closed down. Reminds me of Frye, but a little shorter.

I'm optimistic when I watch his film but he is very small. Hopefully better than Rod Caldwell.

I’ve followed BG basketball WAY too long to expect any guy to return. After the decade long mass exodus of players that crippled the program and kept us from ever rebuilding, followed by the group of guys we lost to coaching changes, to the constant flow of guys leaving across the nation now (one-third of all players transfer in the NCAA), mixed in with those who run at the first signs of facing some adversity, and don’t get me started on the grad transfers. I don’t expect anyone to stay anymore.

Good potential replacement for Turner's spot would be Jhery Matos, grad transfer out of Dayton. 6'6" guard who is a great defender, and talented scorer. He got forced out of the rotation at UD because of their system rather than talent. Would love to see BG land someone like that who would fit in to the starting five and help with perimeter defense.

Do you really, really want to drive the play by play man crazy? Mattos, Mattis, Matos.

I see some pretty solid marketing potential!

Not a very impressive career at Dayton but it doesn't look like he was given much of an opportunity on the floor. It looks like he was a very good JUCO though.

Yeah, I saw him play at Dayton a couple of times, and when he made it on the floor it looked like he belonged against some top level competition, his playing style just wasn't the right fit in their system.

Justin Turner has trimmed his list to:
Missouri, Iowa State, Marquette, and returning to BGSU.

if you look at the rosters for these teams, Missouri is loaded at the guard positions. Iowa State has only an incoming Fr right now at SG and Marquette also has availability for an experienced guard. So, my sense is that it will only be Marquette and Iowa State as competition for a return. Marquette would be the one I would worry about the most based on ability to get to the Tourney and playing minutes.

Marquette would be a solid fit. Guard heavy offense under Wojciechowski, plenty of exposure on national TV (I think basically every Big East game is on FS1 or CBS Sports), and their work-horse star player graduated. In my biased opinion, out of those options, I still think a return to BG would be the best for him, professionally. He'll be the featured player on a solid BG roster with a very capable #2 in Plowden. I also think that we will probably see a transfer from one of the other current guards if he comes back, though, because it will mean another year of limited minutes.

It would certainly be strange for him to go through this process only to decide to return to BG but with the shutdown that could very well happen. I think it would be very difficult to decide you're going to attend a university you've never visited. I would assume he's never been on a visit to the other three schools so he's choosing solely based on fit, conversations with coaches and virtual tours. Compare that with a situation where you know you will be the man, become the school's all-time leading scorer and once again be the favorite to win the MAC.

Missouri has had back to back losing seasons.
ISU won 12 games last year.
Marquette's program has been successful but no longer is a lock to make it to the NCAA tourney.

BG has as good of a shot out of the 4 to make it to the dance next year (yes I realize what I'm saying). If he decides to leave the determining factor then would be to show himself and/or the NBA he can compete with the best players in the SEC/Big 12/Big East. We'll see but I think it would be very difficult to choose a school I've never been to and a coach I've never met.

Even at BG, I would expect NBA scouts to have a good handle on JT's pro potential. He may get more TV exposure at ISU, Marq, but it's the SCOUTS that JT needs to be seen by. The scouts are already keenly aware of JT, and what he does in the pre-draft camps will override anything that he does in his fifth year anyway.
