Enjoying the current win streak and the past 2 years in general. It's been a long time since we've seen this type relevance in the MAC, enjoy it! The lack of complete games leads to an optimistic hope that the best is yet to come with this team.

Turner seems to be getting into a pattern. Really lack luster starts where he isn't forcing anything, but also isn't making anything happen at all.

Then, when the pressure gets significantly higher in the 2nd half - Juice shows up and dominates.

From Sports Psychology in college waaaaay back in the day, this seems like a classic case of being in the wrong spot on the excitability curve.

As excitability goes up, so does performance, until you get to the peak. Then it can come crashing down in a hart beat (ie... you choke under pressure).

Hypothesis: For Turner, these MAC games just are not a big deal - until he's close to losing one. That's when he get's far enough up the peak to start to really perform. We have yet to see him go past that into choke mode.

What that would mean is that the coaching staff is not doing their job of getting each individual player into the right mental state before the contest. Someone needs to light a fire under his ass one way or another before the game so that he comes out hyped up.

If we had last 3 minutes juice for the whole game - do you really think we would even NEED last 3 minutes juice? Or would he be comfortably resting on the bench while we develop Swingle and Zeigler?
